Product information:

Ingredients: Pectin
Size: Various sizes

More information and Usage instructions:

100% apple pectin consists of pure, non-amidated pectin. Small fluctuations in composition are therefore possible.

A basic recipe for approx. 1 kg fruit:
15-25g apple pectin, 500g sugar and the juice of half a lemon. Depending on the type of fruit, the required amount of pectin can vary. Use more pectin if you desire a firmer texture, less when you require a softer jam.
You can reduce the sugar, but do keep the pectin level as desired.

Important: Mix the pectin with sugar first and then add to the fruit - this will avoid lumps of pectin in the jam.

A basic recipe for approx. 0.75l juice:
75-20g apple pectin, 500 g sugar and the juice of half a lemon.

Mix the pectin with the sugar and stir into the fruit juice and lemon juice. Cook for 3-5 minutes depending on the type of fruit. Immediately pour hot into jars that are not too large and seal. Leave to set.

Our recipe tip: Fruity strawberry jam

Ingredients:

  • 1kg strawberries
  • 15-20g Pectin
  • 500g sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Cut the washed strawberries in half and roughly chop the rest. Bring to a boil with 250g sugar and the lemon juice while stirring, and allow to simmer for 3 minutes. Take the pot off the stove. Mix the pectin well with the remaining 250g sugar and slowly stir into the hot mixture. Bring to a boil again, stirring, and cook well for 1 minute. Pour into jam jars while hot and close tightly. Leave to set.

FAQs

Do I need rubber rings and clamps?

If you want to preserve food by heating and pasteurising (see above) or if you want to seal and close the jar, then you will need to order rubber rings and clamps. Without clamps, the lid will sit loose on top of the jar.

With every jar type we have indicated what size of rubber rings are needed for these specific jars. There is only one size of clamps, so you don’t need to worry about clamp sizes.

All jars come with lids included, so there’s no need to order additional lids.
